How to Donate
All states—including Wisconsin—have enacted the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act (UAGA) which allows all people age 18 and older to donate eye tissue after death for transplantation, research, and education.
There are several ways that you can ensure your future donation for transplants:
- Sign up on the Wisconsin Donor Registry
- Say yes to being a donor at the DMV. That too will add you to the Wisconsin Donor Registry.
- Talk to your family and friends about donation. Let them know of your wishes.
If your wishes have not been documented, the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin will act only with the consent of the donor’s legal next-of-kin.
